Our Services

Atlas Physiotherapy provides rehabilitation services for injuries related to sport, work, and activities of daily life.

We work to treat a various number of orthopedic conditions including post-operative rehabilitation (joint replacements, rotator cuffs, spinal fusion surgeries, and ligament repairs), back/neck pain, fractures, sprains, strains, and much more. We provide individualized care to build confidence to help you achieve those goals.

Dry Needling

Treatment entails insertion of a sterile needle through the skin, into the underlying tendons, ligaments, or muscles that have been affected, in order to relieve pain, decrease muscle tension, and improve mobility. It provides an environment that enhances the body’s ability to heal, ultimately reducing pain in the process. In conjunction with traditional exercises based physical therapy interventions and other manual therapy treatments,  dry needling can be a valuable tool to achieve goals of pain-free movement and return to functional activities.

Manual Therapy

Our physical therapist has received extensive training using a variety of techniques and skill sets including soft tissue massage, joint mobilization, manual traction, cupping, IASTM, and many others. Manual therapy is a valuable tool used to reduce pain/swelling, decrease restrictions, mobilizing joints, and improving mobility and range of motion.

3

Kinesiotaping

Taping technique used to help reduce pain and improve mobility while stabilizing your joints, muscles, and tendons.

4

Thermal/Cryotherapy

Heat and/or Ice treatment to reduce pain and improve tolerance to movement and activity.

5

Ultrasound

Ultrasound therapy uses sound waves at a high frequency to affect the body’s tissues to reduce pain, improve blood flow to reduce inflammation, and help relieve tissue tension.

6

E-Stim/NMES

Transcutaneous nerve stimulation (TENS) is targeted electrical stimulation for sensory nerves to help reduce pain/block pain signals for improve mobility. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) uses a low-frequency current to stimulate the nerves in desired muscles, causing them to contract. This action enhances muscle strength and endurance, motor learning, and muscle re-education. NMES also works to reduce swelling and pain in the muscles.

7

Preventative Measures

Postural Screening/Education to assess any possible asymmetries and muscular imbalances that can cause inefficient movement patterns and possible lead to pain. Balance/Fall prevention to address and train multiple systems involved in balance and proprioception including vestibular, visual, and somatosensory systems. Proper Workstation and lifting ergonomics/mechanics to optimize the postures and movement patterns of our daily lives reducing abnormal stresses and pain.
